TEJASWINI RURAL WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME
National Institute of Women Child & Youth Development:
National Institute of Women Child & Youth Development as the Facilitating NGO is one of the implementing partner of Tejaswini programme supported by Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVIM) & International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD). Since 2011, NIWCYD has its presence with programme Tejaswini throughout Vidharbha region comprising 11 districts and 25 Talukas. A total 27 cluster level federation offices were established which are known as Community Managed Resource Centres (CMRCs). A total 832 villages comes under the coverage area of Tejaswini programme.
The overall goal of Tejaswini programme is to empower the women through economically, socially and politically. For the attainment of this broader objective, the organisations of women are formed and strengthened in at three level like Self Help Groups (SHGs), Village Level Committees (VLCs) & its apex body as Community Managed Resource Centres (CMRCs) as the federation. Each community managed resource centre (CMRC) will exist as a self reliant body to manage its village level institutions (SHG/VLC) and capable to meet the economic progress of its members through strengthening the groups.

» Other Milestones :
- 1200 women members have involved in various off farm income generation activities after having access to micro - credits from SHGs or banks.
- Apart from this nearly 80 % of the women members are showing increased involvement in on farm related income generation activities.
- Nearly 5000 women members are became stakeholders of Farmers Producers Company under 5 CMRCs with an objective of procurement and collective marketing of pulses.
» Management Information System (MIS):
Self Help Enabler (SHE) software is the electronic MIS for Tejaswini programme which is designed by MAVIM & IFAD with the objectives of tracking the progress of the programme and effective monitoring and evaluation of the activities during various phases. All 27 CMRCs under NIWCYD has started the process of feeding of information on SHGs in the software by the middle of year 2012 and the profile feeding process of more than 50000 women members are almost completed. Hopefully the data entry process will be completed by the end of October 2013.
